Orenburg State Medical University (OrSMU) recently hosted an official academic visit that combined a general tour of the university campus with a close review of teaching facilities and practical training infrastructure. The visit aimed to highlight OrSMU’s strong academic environment while addressing matters related to the academic progress and welfare of Indian students studying at the university.
The visit and discussions were attended by Rector Prof. Igor Miroschnichenko, Dean Prof. Mironchev Anton, and Prof. Dr. S.K. Washim (Founder of Rus Education). Representatives from the Indian Embassy, Moscow, including Mr. Vinay Kumar, Minister of Education and Cultural Affairs, and Mrs. Babita, Attache, were also present. The interaction reflected a shared commitment to maintaining high academic standards and ensuring effective coordination between the university and supporting institutions.
As part of the academic visit, guests observed medical students performing GOZZ practical examinations, a critical component of the 6th-year MBBS assessment in Russia. These practicals are mandatory for graduation and are designed to evaluate students’ clinical skills, decision-making abilities, and readiness for professional medical practice. The demonstration highlighted OrSMU’s emphasis on hands-on training and outcome-based medical education.
Alongside the academic activities, a formal meeting was held to discuss challenges faced by Indian students in Orenburg. Key topics included academic support systems, student welfare, and coordination mechanisms to enhance the overall educational experience. The discussion was constructive and focused on identifying practical solutions to further strengthen student support.
The visit reaffirmed Orenburg State Medical University’s dedication to academic excellence, transparent evaluation processes, and continuous improvement in medical education.
