Orenburg State Medical University

The official founders of the Institute are Lazarenko F.M., histologist, professor; Olifson L.E., chemist, associate professor; Silantyev A.K, associate professor, surgeon; the first director of the Institute was Fetisov N.V., surgeon-dentist. The University is located in the city of Orenburg, nearly 1,456 kilometers away from the city of Moscow, the capital of Russia, and nearly 2,166 kilometers away from the city of Saint Petersburg.

Orenburg State Medical University is ranked among the top medical universities in Russia for pursuing MBBS and many other medical degrees. According to Forbes, the leading American Business Magazine, the university ranked 2nd Best Medical University in Russia.

The first batch of MBBS graduates from Orenburg State Medical University was released in May 1946. Orenburg State Medical University provides high-quality medical education in English Medium with updated infrastructure and modern equipments. The learning in Orenburg State Medical University is not just limited to classrooms, rather the students are provided with a complete opportunity to learn through practical and experiments. OrSMU has its own research center and holds 350+ patents under its name. It also has libraries with an aggregate collection of more than 400,000 books.

The MBBS degree from Orenburg State Medical University is recognized by major organizations like the World Health Organization (WHO), listed in World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS), certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG), registered with the Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER) and also empanelled by the erstwhile Medical Council of India (MCI).

To make sure that students have adequate hands-on experience in the field of medicine by the time of their graduation, OrSMU is affiliated with 18+ different hospitals in Russia with more than 8000 beds available to provide clinical training to all MBBS students. During hands-on clinical training, students are involved in patient care and treatment of all kinds of illnesses and diseases. Every year, more than 500 students qualify OrSMU’s rigorous MBBS Program and step out as qualified doctors.

The students who complete their MBBS from Orenburg State Medical University can come back and work in India after passing the Licensure Examination conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) or they can pursue their career abroad.
