Orenburg State Medical University Rector's Visit Strengthens Educational Ties between India and Russia

Orenburg State Medical University, in a significant step towards promoting Russian Education and fostering educational ties between India and Russia, the esteemed of OrSMU, Prof. Igor Miroschnichenko, visited India from July 13th to July 15th, 2023. His visit marked several significant engagements that fosters opportunities for Indian students in the medical field.

As part of his visit, Prof. Igor visited Max Healthcare Saket, a renowned healthcare institution in New Delhi. He met with Dr. Vinita Mittal, and other representatives of the institution where he was briefed about the summer Observership programs at Max Healthcare. He was also engaged in observing and interacting with the in-patients and staff members at the emergency services department. His visit was to ensure Indian Students get valuable clinical experience at Max Healthcare while benefiting from the expertise of Russian Medical Professionals.

On his visit, the Rector accomplished a significant milestone when he signed a comprehensive Agreement of cooperation with the Russian House in New Delhi. This agreement is to pave ways for Indian students for academic opportunities and cultural exchange between India and Russia. Prof. Igor Miroschnichenko, Rector of Orenburg State Medical University and Mr. Oleg Osipov, Director of the Russian House in New Delhi, accompanied by Ms. Elena Barman, Head of Education Department at the Russian House in New Delhi, represented their respective institutions and a few members of Rus Education including Air Marshal Dr. Pawan Kapoor (Retd.), Vice Chairman of Rus Education and other senior members were the key witnesses during this significant event.

The Rector also had an opportunity to participate in the alumni meet that was held at the Russian House in New Delhi for the former Indian students of OrSMU, reconnecting, reminiscing and rebuilding friendships and networks. The gathering was an excellent occasion for the alumni to celebrate their achievements and to establish strong relationships among the Medical professionals.

The Rector also attended the press meet where he was engaged in interactive sessions with several media channels. He emphasized the university's commitment to providing world-class medical education to Indian students. He also shared about the various programs and benefits the university offers to International students.

The Rector's 2-day visit was a great success as the university achieved its objectives of promoting Russian education, strengthening educational ties between India and Russia, and creating new opportunities for academic and cultural exchange between India and Russia.
