Strengthening Academic Engagement and Student Support at OrSMU

Orenburg State Medical University (OrSMU) recently hosted an important academic and administrative visit that combined a campus tour, observation of final-year practical training, and focused discussions on student-related matters. The visit reflected the university’s continued commitment to maintaining high academic standards while addressing the needs of its international student community.

The delegation was welcomed by Rector Prof. Igor Miroschnichenko and Dean Prof. Mironchev Anton, and included Prof. Dr. S.K. Washim (Founder of Rus Education). Representatives from the Indian Embassy in Moscow, Mr. Vinay Kumar, Minister of Education and Cultural Affairs, and Mrs. Babita, Attache, were also present. Their participation highlighted the importance of academic collaboration and student welfare at an institutional level.

As part of the visit, delegates observed students undertaking GOZZ practical examinations, a key component of the 6th-year MBBS assessment required for graduation in Russia. The practical demonstrations showcased OrSMU’s strong emphasis on hands-on clinical training, structured evaluation, and real-world medical competencies.

Following the academic activities, a formal meeting was held to discuss challenges faced by students in Orenburg, focusing on academic support systems, student welfare, and effective coordination between institutions. The dialogue reinforced a shared commitment to enhancing the educational and living experience of students.

This visit underscored OrSMU’s role as a responsible academic institution dedicated to quality medical education, transparent engagement, and continuous improvement for its international student community.
